In deciding on the scope for initial PSM implementation, many companies choose to limit the scope of their effort. This is often a realistic approach, since initial implementation can be complex even within a limited range of chemicals and processes. [Pg.187]

For example, initial implementation may be confined to those chemicals and processes covered by the OSHA process safety rule, which is limited to a specific list of chemicals and excludes processes that meet specific criteria.
