Exfoliated graphite structure

A distinctive dissimilarity between the passivation of Al and the formation of an SEI on a graphitic anode is the effectiveness of surface pre-formation while it has been reported in numerous studies that an SEI formed in one electrolyte can continue to protect the graphite structure when the anode is transferred to another exfoliating electrolyte (such as p i xhat has been pretreated in LiPFe-... [Pg.109]

Our experiments, as well as analysis of the proposed theoretical model for a generalized system of porous electrode "active material - carbon additive" proved that thermally exfoliated graphite (TEG) can be one of the most effective conductive additive and structural support for the different new and existing active materials. The reason for such wide application of TEG is a following unique complex of TEG properties low density, relatively high conductivity and stability to electrochemical oxidation. [Pg.836]

In order to evaluate pore structure of exfoliated graphite, exfoliation volume, which is a volume occupied by a lump of exfohated graphite, or bulk density, which is an inverse of the exfohation volume, was used. ExfoHation volume includes overall information on the three kinds of pores mentioned above the exfohation volume is larger if pore structure is more developed. Information on each pore, however, could not be obtained separately. [Pg.713]

In order to characterize this pore structure ranging so widely, parameters such as the exfoliatictti volume or bulk density of a lump of exfoliated graphite have been used, which include aU information on these three kinds of pores. Recently, new techniques were applied to characterize the various types of pores in exfoliated graphite in order to respond the demands from its new applications such as soiption for heavy oils. It was proposed to determine the PSD of a lump of exfoliated graphite mercury porosimetry using a special... [Pg.99]
