4-ethoxy-7-methoxy-2-methyl- -fluorosulfate

Ethoxy-7-methoxy-2-methyl-l-benzotellurinium fluorosulfate reacted with 4-dimethyl-aminobenzaldehyde to form 2-[2-(4-dimethylaminophenyl)-ethenyl]-4-ethoxy-7-methoxy-1-benzolellurinium fluorosulfate1. 

Dimethylaminophenyl)-ethenyl]]-4-ethoxy-7-methoxy-l-benzotellurmiuni Fluorosulfate1 0.30 g (2.0 mmol) of4-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde are added to 0.43 g(1.0 mmol) of4-ethoxy-7-methoxy-2-methyl-l-benzotellurinium fluorosulfate in 3 ml] of acetic anhydride and the mixture is heated on a steam bath for 2 min. The resultant mixture is then cooled to 0°, and the green solid is collected and recrystallized from acetonitrile yield 0.33 g (59%) m.p. 163-167°.
