Ethics Codes for Other Professions

Engineers and other technical professionals are likely to interact with members of other professions who, in turn, belong to professional societies such as the American Bar Association (ABA), the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) of the American Planning Association (APA), the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG), and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). These groups have codes of ethics tailored to their functions and responsibilities. [Pg.365]

As you work with members of other professions, be sensitive to possible ethics differences. That awareness will help you empathize with and work more effectively with team members, clients, owners, customers, and stakeholders while at the same time holding to your ethical principles. [Pg.366]
