Boron tnfluonde etherate (Lewis acid Lewis base complex)... 

The product of this reaction a Lewis acid Lewis base complex called informally boron tnfluonde etherate may look unusual but it is a stable species with properties different from those of the reactants Its boiling point (126°C) for example is much higher than that of boron tnfluonde—a gas with a boiling point of — 100°C—and diethyl ether a liquid that boils at 34°C... 

Alkyl silyl ethers are cleaved by a variety of reagents Whether the silicon-oxygen or the carbon-oxygen bond is cleaved depends on the nature of the reagent used Treatment of alkoxysilanes with electrophilic reagents like antimony tri-fluonde, 40% hydrofluonc acid, or a boron tnfluonde-ether complex results in the cleavage of the silicon-oxygen bond to form mono-, di-, and tnfluorosiloxanes or silanes [19, 20, 21) (equations 18-20)... 

Intereshngly it is also possible to form a stable silicon-fluonne bond by treatment of a methoxysilole with boron-tnfluonde etherate or of a silole with tntyl tetrafluoroborate [106] The resultant fluorosilane is also a buildmg block for further transformations of the silole (equation 84)...
