Ethane fluoro

A reagent which is primarily of interest as a means of converting alcohols into fluorides has been used to dehydrate C-11 alcohols in high yields. 1 la-Alcohols dehydrate rapidly with 2-chloro-l-diethylamino-l,l,2-trifluoro-ethane reagent at low temperature, while 11 j5-alcohols require refluxing methylene chloride. Traces of fluoro compounds have been detected in the products. [Pg.324]

Some of these difficulties can be circumvented. In particular a cavity-type Stark effect spectrograph has been built which seems capable of yielding relative intensities of near-by lines to within two or three per cent.32 Barrier values for acetaldehyde and fluoro-ethane have been obtained which are in excellent agreement with those from the frequency method described below. From Eq. (1) it can be seen that the error in v is... [Pg.378]

Several of this group are explosives of moderate to considerable sensitivity to impact or friction and need careful handling. Fluorodinitromethane and fluorodini-troethanol are also vesicant [ 1 ]—[4]. l-Fluoro-l,l-dinitro derivatives of ethane, butane, 2-butene and 2-phenylethane are explosive [5], Among the preparations of a series of energetic and explosive compounds, that of N, N, N, A /-tctrakis(2-fluoro-2,2-dinitroethyl)oxamide is especially hazardous, as it involves heating an undiluted explosive to a high temperature [6],... [Pg.159]

Tetrabutylammonium dihydrogen trifluoride also performs oxidative desulfurization fluorina-tion of 2-substituted l,l,l-txis(methylsulfanyl)ethanes in the presence of DBH leading to a new route to partially fluorinated alkenes. l,l,l-tris(methylsulfanyl)-5-phenylpentane (22) reacts with TBADTF in the presence of DBH to give the fluoro derivative 23, which is converted to the fluoroalkene 25 via the sulfoxide 24 followed by pyrolysis.217... [Pg.591]
