Ethambutol-Specific Antibodies

Djawari (1978) reports the case of a 22-year-old man with visceral lupus erythematosus who had an exacerbation, when treated with ethambutol. After withdrawing the drug the clinical symptoms improved quickly and the dermatological changes declined rapidly. 

Grennan amd Sturrock (1976) describe the case of a 9-year-old boy who was treated with rifampicin and ethambutol. He developed polyarthritis, rash, and hepatitis in association with antinative DNA antibodies and positive nuclear factor.
