Establish the routine

Once the components of the hydrogen generating and processing system are constructed and assembled, make a list of the routines necessary to start and operate the unit. 

An operating check list is an absolute necessity for any hydrogen installation. There will be times when your attention is elsewhere, or focused on the outcome of a specific experiment. Put quite simply, people make mistakes. Problems can be avoided by routinely running through the check list at critical points, such as initializing the system, routine online and off-line procedures and emergency shutdown procedures. 

Although your routine will vary according to your design and construction, the list below is our check list for the system in this book. 

Manually start pump to fill KOFI to a fill level mark 

Check to see if the fluid level is the same or has changed. If your fluid level is below the fill point mark, open the pump valve and turn on the pump momentarily with the jog switch until the fluid level reaches the point it needs to be at. If the fluid has exceeded the fluid level, open the three way valve between the pressure tank and the pump to discharge some fluid. Be sure
