Essential familial hyperlipidemias

These diseases are characterized by gross alterations of plasma lipids. Because of their relatively high incidence in European and North American populations their diagnostic importance, their relationship to certain forms of atherosclerosis, and last but not least their response to diet and therapy they are of particular interest.
