Randles-5>evcik equation — An equation introduced by - Randles [i] and - Sevcik [ii] describing the magnitude of the voltammetric peak current /p (in - linear scan voltammetry or in - cyclic voltammetry) for a reversible electron transfer ( rev mechanism -> Erev diagnostics in cyclic voltammetry). 

The diagnostic criteria and characteristics of the cyclic voltammetric response for a reversible heterogeneous electron transfer process, denoted Erev, are summarised below together with expressions for the determination of Ef" and n. The determination of n as well as of several other important parameters is dependent on the knowledge of the diffusion coefficient. In some cases the diffusion coefficient may be estimated based on values for similar compounds in the same solvent or based on empirical equations [51].
