In the erbium complex, [ErtBi COCHCOBuOj, it may be that the large bulk of the tertiary butyl groups result in considerable intramolecular steric hindrance and prevent the complex twisting towards the octahedron. [Pg.66]

Then, we attempted to prepare a 2D hexagonal mesoporous organosilica thin film containing 1 in the channel pores and an erbium complex 5Er (the synthesis of which was previously described [17]) in the framework (Scheme 3). [Pg.228]

The holmium and erbium complexes of 3a were also found to be OH-bridged dimers in the solid state. Only one of the two functionalized cyclopentadienyl rings coordinated to each metal center acts as a... [Pg.282]

The corresponding samarium, holmium and erbium complexes have been made in the same way by Tsutsui and Ely (1975b), which show also an IR band at 1533 cm" for the delocalized allyl stretching vibration. But the complete structure of these compound is not clear. Additional bands in the optical spectra of the tetrahydro-... [Pg.505]

Chemical properties of trialkyl REM compounds are studied very poorly. It is established that the easily proceeding hydrolysis of them leads to the quantitative splitting off of RH [43, 45]. The erbium complex reacts with iodine and mercury chloride according to the equations [45] ... [Pg.22]

The erbium complex has been obtained as well by prolonged heating of a mixture of Cp2ErCl with Me3SiP(Bu-t)2 without a solvent at 50°C and a reduced pressure [4]. [Pg.358]

All complexes of lanthanoids with carbonylmetal ligands are characterized by a high moisture- and oxygen-sensitivity. The only exception is the erbium complex Er[MoCp-(C0)3]3(H20)7, which is stable in water medium [56]. However, it is quickly destroyed on air to give [MoCp(CO)3]2. [Pg.460]

Prior to 1968 a number of complexes of the thiocyanate ion had been prepared but each of them contained additional adduct molecules (such as dioxane or alcohol) that were most likely coordinated as well (Golub and Borsch, 1967). In 1968 the preparation of the complexes [(C4H9)4N]3R(NCS)6 was reported along with the crystal structure of the erbium complex (Martin et al., 1968). This was the first six-coordinate, discrete, anionic complex for which an X-ray diffraction study had been made. These compounds are quite stable, non-hygroscopic, soluble in many organic solvents, and melt without decomposition (Burmeister et al., 1969). The corresponding selenocyanates have also been prepared and, as expected, they are considerably less stable decomposing quite rapidly in moist air or in solution (Burmeister and Deardorff, 1970). [Pg.259]
