Epoxy-resins cyclo-aliphatic

The epoxy novolac, cyclo-aliphatic epoxy and epoxide-functional acrylic resins mentioned in Chapter 14 may be used to form coatings with good adhesion to metal and are particularly suitable for the exterior surfaces of... [Pg.248]

Second is the cyclo-aliphatic epoxy resin, in which the epoxide ring is incorporated onto one of the sides of a cyc/( -hexane ring, e.g. [Pg.177]

Curing agents are hardeners, which are chemically active compounds used to convert epoxy resins into hard and infusible thermosets. These agents promote the crosslinking reaction by self-polymerisation, without the formation of any by-product. Amines such as aromatic, aliphatic, cyclo-aliphatic amines are used as curing agents depending upon the property requirements and application. [Pg.41]

This assumption was tested for epoxy resins by insertion of cyclo-aliphatic and phenolic segments into the crosslinked network. The structure of these resins has been described in the preceding paper and Table II. Depending on the segment length, a flexibili-zation down to LN2 temperature was achieved. But at LHe temperature no plastic flow was found, at least not before fracture occurred. Some reasons for the behaviour may be that the rotational... [Pg.37]
