Environmental aspects, fluoropolymers

Synergy between fluoropolymers and their environment can be identified according to two very opposite aspects green chemistry where they are solutions to problem, and environmental chemistry where they are in some way the source of the problem. 

As with all matured polymers, but in particular due to the persistent nature of fluoropolymers, all individual steps of the whole life cycle (Figure 21.2) are scrutinized under environmental and sustainability aspects.
