Enumeration and Classification of Conformational Isomers

The isometric group of SRMs has been used for enumeration of the conformational isomers of NRMs49). From the point of view of permutational symmetry, this problem has been treated by Mislow et al.s°). The problem of enumeration of permutational isomers of rigid molecules has been studied by Polya5 and more generally by Ruch et al.52). The determination of classes and number of permutational isomers of molecules with a nonrigid skeleton has been attacked by Leonard53,54
