Enrichment streak plate

Six out of the nine strains isolated from the eps-enrichment cultures produced haloes on the RBB-exopolysaccharide plates. Dilutions of enrichment cultures on guar gum or locust bean gum or soil suspensions were plated on RBB-galactomannan plates. Colonies with and without haloes were observed with both labelled polysaccharides. Haloes differed in size and appearance. Halo-producing micro-organisms were isolated from the RBB-galactomannan plates and streaked to purity. [Pg.243]
