C. Engraving from the 1708 Hamburg Printed Edition. (Salomon Trismosin, Aureum Vellus, oder Guldin Schatz und Kunstkammer, Hamburg)... 

J.Godwin s recent translation is based upon manuscripts which differ from the British Library manuscript but are nearly identical to one another. They are dated 1598 and 1708, from Rorschach and Hamburg respectively. This translation is illustrated with reproductions of engravings from the 1708 Hamburg edition, which differ in many substantive features from the 1582 Harley images.

When we begin to look at the material of the hermetic tradition we are quickly struck by the elaborate and beautiful emblematic engravings especially from the late 16th and early 17th centuries, such as those of De Bry, Merian and others, illustrating the works of Robert Fludd, Michael Maier, Mylius, Khunrath, etc, which now seem almost mandatory...
