Engine cylinders supercharged

Table I. RESULTS OF ONE 500 kW GENERATING SET WITH DUAL FUEL 6 CYLINDERS SUPERCHARGED ENGINE (WOOD GAS RUNNING)... [Pg.613]

Satisfactory engine performance is assured by maintaining a minimum log that allows comparison of present characteristics with past records of (1) cylinder exhaust, cooling water, and supercharger exhaust temperature for similar loadings, (2) running sounds and smokiness of exhaust, and (3) engine efficiency and losses. [Pg.2493]

Air is supplied to the power cylinders by either natural air flow associated with the engine or by some external means. Engines that use no external means of air supply are termed to be naturally aspirated. Those with some external air supply are generally termed supercharged. The horsepower developed by an engine is dependent on its supply of air. The more air mass contained in a cylinder at ignition the more fuel that can be burned and the more horsepower that will be developed by the cylinder. [Pg.475]

Find the pressure and temperature of each state of an ideal Diesel cycle with a compression ratio of 15 and a cut-off ratio of 2, and a supercharger that compresses fresh air to 20 psia before it enters the cylinder of the engine. The cylinder volume before compression is 0.16 ft. The atmosphere conditions are 14.7 psia and 70°F. Also determine the mass of air in the cylinder, heat supplied, net work produced, MEP, and cycle efficiency. [Pg.130]
