A dental ferrule is an encircling band of cast metal around the coronal surface of the tooth. It has been proposed that the use of a ferrule as part of the core or artificial crown may be of benefit in reinforcing endodontically treated teeth [8]. Ferrule effect is defined by a 360-degree metal crown collar surrounding parallel walls of dentine and extending coronal to the shoulder of the preparation [9]. Several studies have shown the ferrule design affects the pattern of root fracture in restored teeth and improve fracture resistance [10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15] and ferrule height is critical factor to mechanical resistance [9, 16].

Success rates are influenced by several factors. The age of the patient, for example, has been shown to be important, with older patients showing greater failure rates than younger ones [5]. This appears to be also related to the incidence of periodontal disease, which is more prevalent in older people, and capable of causing bone loss around the teeth leading to eventual extraction of the endodontically treated tooth. 

A fracture of endodontically treated tooth is an important issue for restoration when brittle of the teeth is increased due to take the moisture out of the tooth. Hence, tooth fracture in larger occlusive force or files treatment can happen [1], Many posts have been developed in various shapes, diameters and materials to reinforce the tooth [2], An excellent post can reduce stress concentration and tooth damage, but good design for dental post is still unclear. Furthermore, stress distributions in the post and dentin were evidenced to be a factor of failure in post system [3].
