Hydrocarbon-water contact movement in the reservoir may be determined from the open hole logs of new wells drilled after the beginning of production, or from a thermal decay time (TDT) log run in an existing cased production well. The TDT is able to differentiate between hydrocarbons and saline water by measuring the thermal decay time of neutrons pulsed into the formation from a source in the tool. By running the TDT tool in the same well at intervals of say one or two years (time lapse TDTs), the rate of movement of the hydrocarbon-water contact can be tracked. This is useful in determining the displacement in the reservoir, as well as the encroachment of an aquifer. 

The concentration of Ch in a 100.0-mL sample of water drawn from a fresh water acquifer suffering from encroachment of sea water, was determined by titrating with 0.0516 M Hg(N03)2. The sample was acidified and titrated to the diphenylcarbazone end point, requiring 6.18 mb of the titrant. Report the concentration of Cb in parts per million. 

Implantable valves, particularly mechanical valves which continue to encroach on tissue valves, are unique. Methods such as valvuloplasty, mitral valve repair, or use of ultrasound are unlikely to reduce the number of valve replacements into the twenty-first century. Valve selection remains in the hands of the surgeon because of the critical nature of the procedure. If anything goes wrong, the result can be catastrophic to the patient. Cost of a valve, from 3000— 4000, is a relatively small part of the cost of open-heart surgery which can mn as high as 30,000. Growth of the cardiovascular valve market has slowed in the United States with the decline of the threat of rheumatic fever. 

A number of states afford remedies against encroachments that may exceed those afforded under the federal statutes. One such significant remedy is that against dilution of the mark, where use of a mark that is similar to the mark in question, although not confusingly similar because of a dissimilar or noncompetitive use, nevertheless tarnishes, degrades, or dilutes the distinctiveness of the mark (14). 

The value of a damped response is that the areas under seals or other close clearance areas can be investigated on a dynamic basis. This can be done at any selected station on the rotor. If there is encroachment on clearance, the rotor can be tuned to avoid the problem areas. The reliability of the machine can be considered rather than arguing the need for large margins to avoid the unknown. 

Most of those killed and injured were members of the public who were living in a shanty town near the plant. When the plant was built, the nearest houses were 360 m away, but homes had been allowed to encroach on the intervening ground until the nearest houses were only 130 m from the plant.

Despite the significant encroachment of RO and EDI technologies into the premium end of the higher purity water market, there is no doubt that IX remains the most versatile purification technology available. It has by far the longest track record, being perhaps a century old. It is also a robust technology, often the best choice for use in remote boiler plant locations or where maintenance facilities and support services are limited. 

This reaction proceeds at a much faster rate than the hydrogen reduction of WFg. The result is erosion of the silicon substrate causing encroachment and tunnel defects. The use of a different precursor, such as tungsten carbonyl, W(CO)g, may solve this problem. CVD tungsten is presently limited mostly to multilevel-via-fill applications.

Protection of the Drinking Water Supply this is the most pressing concern especially in developing island nations like Tuvalu in the Pacific but even in the Netherlands where Protection Against Sea Water Encroachment in the Water Supply is harder to ensure than Prevention of the Flooding of Land near or below sea level. 

In a real population, the dynamics are complicated by territorial disputes between predators. A pride of lions may establish and defend a territory against other lions by driving away intruders. A "repulsion" term that keeps members of different packs apart can be included in a CA simulation by allowing cells that contain lions to interact over large neighborhoods. However, if the two-dimensional simulation "wraps around" on itself, the region that a pack of lions controls may become mirrored, so that what appear to be intruders encroaching into one side of the territory are, in fact, members of the same pack positioned at the other side of the territory that have been... 

Critical stenosis occurs when the obstructing lesion encroaches on the luminal diameter and exceeds 70%. Lesions creating obstruction of 50% to 70% may reduce blood flow, but these obstructions are not consistent, and vasospasm and thrombosis superimposed on a noncritical lesion may lead to clinical events such as MI. If the lesion enlarges from 80% to 90%, resistance in that vessel is tripled. Coronary reserve is diminished at about 85% obstruction due to vasoconstriction.
