Encephalo myocarditis

The production process of porcine factor VIII does not incorporate virus-eliminating steps. However, each batch is extensively screened to confirm the absence of viruses. In a pharmacovigilance study of 81 hemophiliacs treated with porcine factor VIII, there were no cases of transmission of porcine viruses (porcine parvovirus, encephalo-myocarditis virus, porcine respiratory, and reproductive syndrome virus) (49). 

Constit. of the lipopolysaccharide from the cells of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Also present in Achromobacter georgio politanum Salmonella, spp. Proteus vulgaris, Neurospora crassa. Vibrio cholerae, and Brucella spp. The Upopolysaccharide is used as antiviral agent for influenza A/PR8, encephalo-myocarditis virus and Columbia SK virus. Cryst. (EtOH/Et20). 

Several 9-ethyl-substituted bisbasic carbazoles of the general formula (199) were tested against Encephalo myocarditis, virus infection in mice (35). Compounds with R = Et, = COOR2 and those with R2 = ethyl to hexyl have the highest activity. Some basic esters and amides of carbazole have also been tested against the virus. Compound (200) at a concentration of 50 mg/kg produces a longer survival time than the controls (2).
