Electrostatic discharge detector

If a material can be made into both PC and PV devices, then PV devices are preferred because they have a better theoretical signal-to-noise value, simpler biasing, and more reliable prediction of responsivity and noise. PC detectors are less fragile physically and less sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD). For early detectors that was an important issue, but robust ESD protection is almost always included in modern commercial devices. [Pg.118]
