Electronic States of Reacting Silylenes

Silylenes formed by the thermal decomposition processes are all likely to be in the singlet state as reasoned by Skell, Ring, Purnell, Walsh, and other [Pg.322]

Over the years, the structural parameters of silylenes have been predicted by various types of calculations and evaluated by a number of spectroscopic studies. Among them the most thoroughly investigated one is SiFj, which has been studied in the gas phase by microwave, ultraviolet, infrared, and electron spin resonance spectroscopy. Some infrared studies on a solid inert gas matrix have also been carried out.  [Pg.323]

There is much less structural information available for the silylenes in their excited states. For SiHj, Dubois, Herzberg, and Verma measured the following structural parameters for its. B, state HSiH angle = 122° and Si-H length = 0.149 nm. [Pg.323]
