Electron oligo

The optical absorption spectra and the first reduction potentials are virtually independent of the number of pyrene units present in the molecule, as a result of the specific stereoelectronic situation. Since the orbital coefficients of the bridgehead centers are almost zero, the rings are electronically decoupled. Thus, oligopyrenes differ significantly from oligo(pflrfl-phenylene)s (OPVs). [Pg.192]

Adiabatic Versus Nonadiabatic Electron Transfer Across Linear Fused Oligo-Norbornyl Structures... [Pg.229]

These structural factors are relevant for the redox-activity of bis- and oligo-electrophoric systems and for the reorganization energy associated with intramolecular electron hopping. [Pg.10]

Most of the reactions that can be used to prepare distannanes can be extended to the preparation of oligo- and polystannanes, which have attracted interest for potential use in electronic and optical devices.455 The structures of the products are not necessarily those of completely linear catenanes, (R2Sn) , and different degrees of branching confer different properties. The formation of polymers is also frequently accompanied by the formation of cyclic pentamers or hexamers, and samples prepared by different methods may show substantially different properties. [Pg.857]

The mechanism of electron-impact elimination of the substituents of oligo(organyl-silsesquioxanes) and their homo derivatives is discussed in °- >. [Pg.231]

Polymerization of a mixture of oligo(3-tolylsilsesquioxanes) involves consecutive addition of the oligomer to an active chain end of the polymer molecule. This is a reversible process, the equilibrium depending greatly on temperature. Thus, above 300 °C, oligo(3-tolylsilsesquioxanes) are mainly formed An electron-microscopic examination of the polymer structure has revealed the formation of a specifically... [Pg.233]

Electron and Hole Transfer from the Hydration Layer to DNA. - Debije et al. investigated the transfer of X-radiation-induced electrons and holes (H20 +) from the hydration layer of crystalline oligonucleotides into the oligo itself.57 Results from these Q-band ESR experiments at 4 K suggest that ionization of hydration water results in both electron and hole transfer to the DNA model structures. The proton transfer reaction from H20 + to form the hydroxyl radical occurs on the timescale of a few molecular vibrations, thus it limits hole transfer distance from a water hole to DNA. [Pg.267]
