Electrochemistry in One Dimension Applications of Carbon Nanotubes

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were discovered in 1991 by lijima [1]. The widespread research on CNTs started in 1990s, but was preceded in 1980 by the first industrial synthesis of some products today known as CNTs as well as documented observations of hollow carbon nanofibers as early as 1950s [2]. [Pg.83]

CNTs have also received enormous attention as analytical tools in the construction of (bio)sensors to either support the biorecognition element or improve the transduction event, as has been extensively reviewed [9-15]. [Pg.83]
