Electrical-loss angle tangent

The power factor of a material may be described loosely as the fraction of the electrical energy stored by the condenser in each cycle which is lost as heat. This arises because the phase difference between voltage and current deviates from 90° (which it would be for a perfect dielectric, e.g. vacuum) by the loss angle, 8. The dissipation factor is the tangent of the loss angle, tan 8. [Pg.271]

Loss angle The inverse tangent of the electrical dissipation factor. [Pg.583]

Ku, C. C. and R. Liepins, Electrical Properties of Polymers , Hanser, New York, 1987. The four parameters of electrical properties in polymers are discussed dielectric constant, tangent of dielectric loss angle, dielectric breakdown and electrical conduction. [Pg.1412]

During determination of dielectric constant (E = 3,5-5,0), tangent of angle of dielectric loss (tg5 = 0,02-0,03), specific volume electrical resistance (p = 10 - lO" Om-cm) we came to the conclusion that nitride and carbide of boron do not deteriorate the electrical properties of compositions and they are useful for pressurization of semiconductor instruments of high reliability. [Pg.167]

The studies of dielectric properties showed, that the developed compositions maintain its properties in the temperature interval fi om 20 C to 150° C. Dielectric constant of compositions is 4-5 tangent of angle of dielectric loss - 10, specific volume electrical... [Pg.235]
