The Hamiltonian matrix so obtained must be diagonalized. This can be done by standard procedures. We use the diagonalization routine of the EISPACK program package. Note that the matrices for rf phases a other than +x need not be diagonalized separately because... 

The routines REDUC, TRED2, and TQL2 of EISPACK, available at [120], are examples of canned routines. Matrix routines from the LAPACK [121] and LINPACK [122] packages are also available.
