Eichrom Technologies

Extraction chromatographic materials for analytical separations have been commercialized by Eichrom Technologies, Inc. (Darien, IL). These typically use extractants and solvents known in the field of liquid/liquid extraction for radiochemical separations. Some of the extractants and solvents used are shown in Scheme 9.1.

The SPE medium chosen to remove the matrix for the protocols presented here is 0.21 0.1 g TRU resin in a standard 2-mL polypropylene (PP) column available from Eichrom Technologies, Darien, IL. This amount of resin is slightly less than half the standard amount of resin in prepacked Eichrom 2-mL bed-volume columns and occupies approximately 1 mL of the column when fully wetted and packed by gravity. The Eichrom facility in the United States has accepted special orders for the smaller volume of resin in prepacked columns, or the columns can be packed in the lab.
