EELS, definition

For transitiog+metal complexes an intense eel as it was observed for Ru(bipy) seems to be rather an exception. It is certainly difficult to draw definite mechanistic conclusions based on small eel efficiencies because eel may originate from side reactions in these cases. However, our results do show that electron transfer reactions with large driving forces can generate electronically excited transition metal complexes as a rather general phenomenon. [Pg.170]

EEL (front-end loading) The process by which a company develops a detailed definition of the scope of a capital project that meets corporate business objectives. [Pg.55]

Muravskaya, 1978 Diana and Mackay, 1979 Shatunovsky, 1980). However, in all starved fish it is the lipid that is mobilized first, except possibly in the eel. In fatty fish, much lipid is used from the flesh, while in lean fish it is used from the liver. In both types of fish, muscle protein is mobilized only when the lipid resources fall below a critical level. Black and Love (1986) showed that energy substrates are mobilized in a definite sequence, white muscle protein, for example, being metabolized at an earlier stage than red muscle protein, while, on refeeding, the latter is replenished before the former. [Pg.170]

At the threshold level 3, the majority of acute toxicity limits is in agreement with above mentioned definition. Almost all the approaches (ERPG, AEGL, TEEL and LBW) specify threshold level to overcome life endangerment or death. There is a difference, however, when EEl refers to permanent inability and SEL refers only to prevention of death effects. [Pg.885]
