Edge alignment

FIGURE 4.6 Isolated dark adapted chloroplast imaged with (a) MPF, (b) SHG, and (c) THG. The chloroplast is edge aligned with thylakoid membranes oriented perpendicular to the image plane. The scale bar is 3 pm. [Pg.92]

FIGURE 15 XANES spectra of the L3-edges of the 5d transition metals. The spectra have been shifted so that the absorption edges align to a common energy (Meitzner et al., 1992). Reprinted with permission from (Meitzner et al., 1992). Copyright 1992 American Chemical Society. [Pg.367]

The defiector roll guides the sheet to another pinch roll no. 4 to carry out precise alignment of the edges before they enter the welder. [Pg.143]

Pinch roll no. 4 aligns the edge of the sheet through a feedback contiol. [Pg.143]

It then passes through a pair of guide rollers, pinch rollers no. 5, a shear, an edge guide unit (to align the width of the sheet) and a final alignment pinch roll no. 6 as shown. [Pg.144]

The wire-flange sprockets (Figure 3-35c) are assembled by simply inserting a preformed, crimped wire of the proper number of teeth and pitch along the edges of the teeth of the sprocket. This type of guide is recommended particularly in the case of independently mounted electric motors that are not likely to stay in accurate alignment. [Pg.444]

Note that this offset value is not the true theoretical offset. It is actually the theoretical offset plus one-half of the shaft diameter (see Figure 54.5) because the indicator dial is mounted on the outside edge of the shaft as opposed to the centerline. However, for the purposes of alignment calculations, it is not necessary to use the theoretical offset or the theoretical run that corresponds to it. Figure 54.7 illustrates why this is not necessary. [Pg.917]
