Dynamics of the polymer surface

This evidence for differences in mobility between molecules at the surface and in the bulk is suggestive and intriguing. However, our imderstanding of this aspect of polymer surfaces is in its infancy, and will not be anything like complete until new experimental techniques - preferably direct, surface-sensitive probes of polymer mobility - and theoretical ideas have been developed.
