Duryl groups

When 10a is reacted with Li[C6Hs-BH3] a mixture of the isomers 11c and lid (5 1 by NMR) is obtained, which could not be separated. The isomer with the phenyl group in apex position is favored, indicating that the chlorine atoms in 10a are predominantly replaced by hydrogen and the hydroboration with C6H5-BH2 leads to isomer 11c. In contrast to this the reaction of 10a with lithium durylborate yields to the cluster lie with the duryl group in basal position , lie was studied by X-ray structure analysis which confirmed the connectivities in the molecule. However, the bad quality of the crystals did not allow a reliable refinement of the structure. [Pg.350]

A [Ru(phen)3] complex (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) having an arylethynyl group at the 4-position of one of the three phen ligands (aryl = (dimesityl)borylduryl or duryl group) showed dual emissions at low temperature in propylene carbonate (PC). ... [Pg.155]

Fuaon and co-workers407 prepared a number of -opoxy ketones bearing massive groups like mesityl, 2,4,6 triethylphenyl, duryl, [Pg.35]

Hoffmann found that the bulky duryl (2,3,5,6-tetramethylphenyl) group, by slowing the rate of C-S rotation (see below), also slowed considerably the rate of racemisation of the lithiated sulfides. For example, while the lithiated phenylsulfide 231 has a barrier to racemisation of 11.3 kcal mol-1 at 263K, the durylsulfide 232 shows a barrier greater than 13.9 kcal mol-1.109 in... [Pg.201]
