Drying of paper and tissue

Bond [23] and Poirier [24] have presented valuable data and analyses of steam drying of handsheets in static laboratory test rigs. No pilot-scale data exist at this time on steam drying of paper or tissue. Application to tissue drying (impingement and through drying) appears to be the more imminent industrial-scale operation. Another potential near-term application is as a booster dryer to increase the productivity of a dryer-limited mill. [Pg.428]

When electrophoresis is finished, cover the gel with dry filter paper and several layers of tissue paper and press hy a weight. Remove the paper after 15 min and agitate the slide in PBS for 2 x 30 min. Stain the gel as described in Protocol 4.8.4. The precipitin bands appear as fine blue lines. [Pg.156]

Remove the antigen solution and wash three times with 200 pi Soln. B each. Beat out the last washing solution on tissue paper and block with 200 pi of Soln. C per well on a shaker at RT for 15 min. Remove the blocking solution and wash twice with PBS. Dry the plate at air and store it until use in a sealed plastic bag. [Pg.158]

Natrium (5.3 g, 0.23 mol) and kalium (25.6 g, 0.65 mol) are freshly cut, washed with petroleum ether, wiped dry with tissue paper, and placed in a 100-mL flask under nitrogen. Melting of the metals and concomitant formation of the alloy are brought about by careful warming with a heat gun. The Na-K must be stored under an inert atmosphere. [Pg.354]

After complete removal of K chlorate, swirl the crucible once with 1.0ml of soln No 2 and remove the liquid immediately by suction. Wipe the bottom of crucible with tissue paper, dry the crucible in an oven at 80+1° for 30mins, cool in a desiccator and weigh... [Pg.591]
