Droplet spreading experimental investigations

The spreading has been experimentally investigated by using solutions of poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(propylene oxide)-poly(ethyl-ene oxide), commercially available under the tradename Pluronic . Pluronics are symmetric triblock copolymers and nonionic surfactants that show an amphiphilic behavior in aqueous solution. Beyond the critical micelle concentration, the copolymer forms micelles spontaneously. It has been demonstrated that the maximum diameter of a droplet at equilibrium can be controlled through the substrate temperature of the substrate and the polymer concentration (83). [Pg.272]
