Dream reports memory

We can ask numerous questions that we don t have answers to yet about this information flow, not only general psychological ones as to how information passes from the unconscious mind to the conscious mind and what sort of transformations our unconscious processes work on information, but even more specific ones about whether psi information is processed in the same or a different way as sensory and memory information is in the unconscious mind. In the telepathic dream reported in Chapter 6, for example, there was a different feeling quality associated with this dream than with ordinary dreams. We also need to know what sort of conditions in the conscious mind can facilitate the flow of information from the unconscious, i.e., how do we draw out information from this normally inaccessible part of the mind What sorts of conscious conditions or actions minimize the distortion that seems to occur in the process Given that our direct, conscious use of psi is so poor, these are very important questions. 

I almost have to dream myself back and forth to recapture all the interesting happenings during my first five and a half years at Edgewood. I ve got a stack of reports, a pile of data sheets filled with rows and columns of numbers, personal and official letters, family and workplace photographs and... my memories. 

When I woke up, I immediately recognized that my previous consciousness had been dreaming and I was able to file away enough memory to write these reports the next day. What must have happened I must have reversed the activation/inactivation ratio of my brain and the PET studies say, Yes, of course. That s exactly what happened ... 

Animals certainly can t report dreams even if they do have them. But which pet owner would doubt that his or her favourite animal friend has perception, memory, and emotion These are three of the key aspects of consciousness, and they could be experienced whether or not an animal had verbal language as we do. When the animal s brain is activated during sleep, why not assume that the animal has some sort of perceptual, emotional, and memory experience ...
