DMC Vehicle Headlamps

Modern vehicle design poses severe problems to the headlight manufacturer. The front-end shape of cars, at first for aesthetic styling reasons and later to achieve lower aerodynamic drag, has created a demand for headlights in [Pg.196]

The plastics moulding process also allows ecomonic production of improved reflector designs in conventional circular shapes, and gives improved control and reproducibility of performance. This latter is particularly important with the increased light output of halogen bulbs, to avoid glare. [Pg.197]


The DMC moulded headlamp allows approximately 12% saving in weight, which contributes directly to the overall drive to save weight in vehicle bodies. This becomes particularly important in large and complex designs. [Pg.204]
