Divine spark

The Salt represents the Body, or vehicle, which allows expression of the other two essentials. It is a principle of fixity, consolidation, and focus—The Material Basis, or matrix. The Sulfur, represents the Soul, the Consciousness. It is a fiery principle, brightness. The Spiritualized Male aspect of the One. Kundalini. The character of a thing. The True Colors. The Intelligence. The Divine Spark. 

This is the Divine Spark hidden in all things, the reflection of Celestial Fire. Called the Quintessence, it is the "most purified and fixed part of a matter," formed by the perfect balance of the Four Elements. This harmony between opposing forces of the Elements, brings forth a whole new and exalted state, the Fifth Element or Quintessence. Its action is digestive and maturing. It drives the transpiration and subtilization of the elements upward to regenerate fire. 

The Pinenut is a symbol of the divine Light-Seed, which is concealed in it. During the sacred procession, they already carried the Thyrsus-Staff with the pine cone They should remember that the Titan-Son, Prometheus, who formed the first Human Being out of moist clay and brought him to life through the divine fire, which he brought from Heaven, hidden in a Narthex-Staff This divine spark is not brought to life in everybody That is why Plato said ... 

Homo non ut a matre. .. [ Man was brought into being not by a mother, but by a step-mother. Nature. He had a body which was naked, frail and infirm. Moreover, he had a mind which grew anxious when troubles arose, abject when fears struck, weak when there was any toil, inclined to lusts, a mind in which a certain divine spark of inner intellect and spirit was, as it were, eclipsed. . 

So the manifestations, the human-built channels of thought and action, are often evil, even though the originating impulse and energy is divine in origin. This is a consequence of human free will. This is why the Qabalah holds the difficult, and easily misunderstood and abused, teaching that, within the heart of every evil there is concealed a spark of the Divine. How could it be otherwise, since there is only One Reality, one Life-Power ...
