Disilyl phosphines

Both silyl phosphine and disilyl phosphine, (H3SO2PH, can be obtained by passing an electrical discharge through mixtures of silane and phosphine at low temperatures. This method can also lead to the formation of less volatile products such as SiH2(PH2)2 and amorphous Si2P... 

The isomer of disilyl phosphine is obtained by passing an electrical discharge through a mixture of disilane and phosphine. 

Platinum(O) phosphine complexes undergo a variety of oxidative addition reactions with compounds containing Group 14 elements. These reactions are of widespread interest because similar processes are probably involved in the catalysis by platinum complexes of reactions such as the hydrosilation of alkenes and the disilylation of dienes and alkenes. 

The 1,4-disilylation of a,/3-unsaturated ketones has been reported by Ito and co-workers.172 Unsymmetrically substituted disilanes, PhCl2SiSiMe3 and Cl3SiSiMe3, undergo reaction in the presence of catalytic amounts of palladium complexes with tertiary alkyl phosphine or bidentate phosphine ligands to yield /3-silyl ketones [Eq. (64)].

Catalytic cycles (or part of them) of some relevant processes such as the hydrosilylation of ethylene " or the disilylation of alkenes catalyzed by Pt(0) bis(phosphine) complexes have been also the subject of several theoretical studies.
