Dipyrazinyl sulfides

Since dipyrazinyl sulfides are simply alkylthiopyrazines in which the alkyl group is replaced with another pyrazinyl group, information on such sulfides is included here. Alkylthiopyrazines are the most frequently encountered thiopyrazines, both as end products and as useful intermediates for other types of pyrazine. [Pg.251]

Mercaptopyrazine on heating to 220° decomposed to hydrogen sulfide and dipyrazinyl sulfide (7) (821) and was oxidized by iodine in aqueous potassium iodide to dipyrazinyl disulfide (9) (821). [Pg.200]

Oxidation of dipyrazinyl sulfide with hydrogen peroxide in acetic acid gave dipyrazin-2-yl sulfone (821). [Pg.202]
