Equation 12.31 shows an example of enantioselective displacement (desymme-trization) by azide ion of one of the two methyl carbonate ligands of meso compound 24 to yield 25 in 82% yield with >95% ee.63 This was accomplished using a Pd complex also bound to chiral diamide-diphosphine ligand (26).64 Other Trost ligands include structures 27 and 28.
