Diphenylacetonitrile Methadone hydrochloride

Diphenylacetonitrile is condensed with 2dimethyl-amino)-2,2-diphenyl valeronitrile. It is then reacted with ethyl magnesium bromide and then hydrolyzed using HCl to give methadone hydrochloride.
