Dipeptide isoster

Novel highly functionalized dipeptide isosters were synthesized via diastereoselective alkyl-arylation protocol of a glucose-derived (R)-tert-butanesulfinylimine. One of these novel sugar amino acid derivatives, a D-Ala-Ser/Thr isostere, was applied in a peptide synthesis protocol to afford a cyclic tetramer (Fig. 53).69...

Wilkinson s catalyst, Rh(PPh3)3Cl, has been shown to be an effective catalyst in the isomerization of propargyl alcohols such as 310 to trans 311 in a stereoselective manner. The reaction is highly trans selective and the products such as 311 are intermediates in the synthesis of dipeptide isosters.
