Diorgano Oxygen X Tellurium Compounds

Treatment of the solutions obtained by boiling mixtures of diaryl tellurium dichlorides and water or treatment of aqueous solutions of diaryl tellurium hydroxide chlorides with sodium thiocyanate gave rise to bis[diorgano thiocyanato tellurium] oxides  [Pg.629]

The single crystal X-ray structural analysis of bi diphenyl thiocyanato] tellurium oxide showed that the two tellurium atoms in the molecule are linked by an oxygen atom. The thiocyanate groups are bonded to tellurium via the nitrogen atoms.  [Pg.629]

Some diaryl tellurium dinitrates did not give diaryl tellurium hydroxide nitrates on treatment with water but deposited the corresponding anhydride  [Pg.629]

Diaryl tellurium oxides and 2-hydroxybenzaldehydes were refluxed in benzene and the produced water removed by azeotropic distillation to give bis[diaryl tellurium phenoxide] oxides in almost quantitative yields.  [Pg.630]

Bis[diphenyl Tellurium 4-Bromo-2-formylphcnoxide] Oxide A solution of 19.89 g (0.1 mol) of 5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde in 50 m/ benzene is added within 5 min to a suspension of 29.76 g (0.1 mol) of diphenyl tellurium oxide in 200 ml benzene. The mixture is refluxed until 0.9 ml water are eollected in a Dean-Stark trap. Most of the solvent is distilled from the reaction mixture. The residue deposits on cooling to 5° bright yellow crystals yield 98% m.p. 75° (from carbon tetrachloride). [Pg.630]
