Dinitro-6-aminophenol

Dinitro-2-aminophenol 2-Amino-4,6-dinitrophenol or Picramic Acid(PAA)... [Pg.241]

Picramic acid or 4,6-dinitro-2-aminophenol (m. p. 169-179°C) forms dark red crystals, readily soluble in benzene and acetic acid, but difficult to dissolve in other organic solvents. [Pg.572]

Dinitro-2-aminophenol, also known by the trivial name picramic acid, has two nearly identical values reported for the solid78,79. The agreement between them is encouraging. The enthalpy of reaction 2 is ca 5 kJmol-1, given the —232.7 3.1 kJmol-1 reported for the corresponding deaminated species, 2,4-dinitrophenol. [Pg.276]
