Dimethyl sulphoxide impregnation

Ion exchange resins have occasionally been used to adsorb fiavones from aqueous solutions they can then be eluted with alcohol. Weakly polar substances have been separated by partition chromatography on silica gel, impregnated with dimethyl sulphoxide [156] benzene was used as solvent. An interesting separation is that of betacyanins with an aqueous potassium acetate solution on polyamide [198].
