Diffusion coefficient data , various metal

Cyclic voltammetry (CV) is a well-known technique in wet electrochemistry. It is mainly used to obtain an electrochemical spectmm of the system studied and to obtain information on the kinetics of the reactions. In aqueous electrolytes CV can thus give quantitative information on diffusion coefficients of species participating in the reaction, together with values for the equilibrium potentials of electrode reactions. Various diagnostic criteria exist in CV to decide whether or not reactions are reversible. Only for reversible reactions mostly at the smface of noble metal electrodes, the full power of CV becomes obvious as far as quantitative kinetic data are concerned. [Pg.579]
