Diclofenac dermatitis

CNS Dizziness (mefenamic acid, meloxicam, piroxicam, flurbiprofen, diciofenac, fenoprofen) headache (ketorolac, fenoprofen, indomethacin, diclofenac, flurbiprofen, meclofenamate, meloxicam, nabumetone, naproxen, tolmetin, ketoprofen, sulindac, celecoxib, mefenamic acid, piroxicam, ibuprofen) somnolence/drowsiness (fenoprofen, naproxen) asthenia (tolmetin, etodolac) malaise (etodolac) fatigue (indomethacin) insomnia (meloxicam). Dermatologic Rash/dermatitis, including maculopapular type (ibuprofen, sulindac, meclofenamate, oxaprozin, nabumetone, mefenamic acid, meloxicam) desquamation angioneurotic edema ecchymosis petechiae purpura alopecia pruritus (nabumetone, naproxen) eczema skin discoloration hyperpigmentation skin irritation peeling skin eruptions (naproxen). 

Hyperemia, burning of the eyes, eyehd allergic contact dermatitis, and conjunctivitis can occur in patients who use diclofenac eye-drops (SEDA-20, 92) (SEDA-21,104). 

Contact dermatitis on the eyelids developed in a 70-year-old-woman after she had used eye-drops containing diclofenac. Patch tests were positive to both diclofenac and indometacin, suggesting possible crossreactivity between the two compounds (32).

A case of photoallergic contact dermatitis from aceclo-fenac has been reported (189). Photopatch tests were positive with aceclofenac 10% in petrolatum, but not with either aceclofenac 1% or 5% in petrolatum or with a series of NSAIDs and other analgesics (benzydamine hydrochloride 3 and 5%, bufexamac 5%, diclofenac 1, 5, and 10%, fepradinol 1%, ibuprofen 5%, indometacin 1, 5, and 10%, ketoprofen 1%, naproxen 5%, paracetamol 1, 5, and 10%, phenylbutazone 1%, piroxicam 1%, salicylic acid 1 and 5%, and thiosalicylic acid 0.1%, all in petrolatum).

Skin Allergic contact dermatitis [38 ] and photoallergic contact dermatitis [39 ] have been attributed to topical diclofenac. In the two cases with photoallergic contact dermatitis, there was cross-reactivity with aceclofenac.
