5.5- dichloro dimethylacetamide

Treatment of methyl 3,6-dichloro-3,6-dideoxy-p-D-allopyranoside with lithium chloride in NJ -dimethylacetamide at 80°-100°C results in an equilibrium mixture of starting material and methyl 3,6-dichloro-3,6-dideoxy-P-D-glucopyranoside with the gZ co-isomer predominating. ... [Pg.117]

Meio-epoxides undergo a ring-opening reaction with aromatic amines in the presence of a chiral metal-organic framework catalyst Zn2(L)(H20)2(A,A -dimethylacetamide)4 where L, [(S)-6,6 -dichloro-2,2 -diethoxy-1,T-binaphthyl-4,4 -bis(5-isophthalic acid)] is an organic linker between the zinc clusters Yields of the a-hydroxyamine ranging i from 70 to 95% with 62-89% ee were obtained using CM-stilbene epoxide and aniline. Lower yields and much lower ee values were found when different substituents were on the stilbene epoxide or the aniline. [Pg.327]

Materials. Distilled water was obtained from a Bamstead metal still. Mercury was obtained from the Glass Shop at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Aldrich (99%) bis(2-methoxy ethyl) ether and octane were used. Dimethylacetamide (DMAC) was obtained from Burdick Jackson (technical grade) and was distilled from calcium hydride. The degreaser used was 1,2-dichloro-ethane obtained from Fisher (ACS Certified). Metal coupons of the Ti-6-4 alloy (2.5 x 12 cm), and solutions of Pasa-Jell 107, HNO3/HF, and SPREX AN 9 were furnished by the NASA-Langley Research Center. [Pg.370]
