Manometer diaphragm

Disulphur decafluoride is thermally less stable than sulphur hexafluoride. Its tendency to react with glass and mercury precludes kinetic investigations in conventional pyrex apparatus, but Trost and McIntosh172 have studied the thermal decomposition in a copper vessel fitted with a diaphragm manometer. Within the experimental error of + 3 % the stoichiometry of the reaction was... [Pg.190]

Sometimes diaphragm manometers for gauge pressure have an absolute pressure scale. Here one has to keep in mind that the measurement result is dependent on changes in atmospheric pressure. This effect can be partially compensated by rotating the scale or resetting the needle. For that purpose the instrument has to be evacuated down to a low pressure (lower than the lower limit of indication) and then to be adjusted to show zero. [Pg.165]

The eqtrilibrinm vapom presstrre over crystals of citric acid monohydrate (the decomposition pressirre of the hydrate) was determined by Marshall [7] nsing the dynamic air cmrent method [62, 63], His results are in a reasonable agreement with those of De Kmif et al. [8]. They used the static method by employing a diaphragm manometer. Oechler [9] applying a direct manometric technique measured vapour pressure of water over solutions saturated with both, the monohydrate and anhydrous citric acid, and obtained practically the same results. These three sets... [Pg.19]
