Desoxycorticosterone acetate

Oxidizing this product with aluminum, isopropylate in the presence of cyclohexanone gives desoxycorticosterone acetate (27.2.6) [35,36]. [Pg.361]

In 1957, Celia and Kagawa [5] reported about the preparation of two steroidal 17-spirolactones, which were capable of blocking the urinary sodium/potassium action of aldosterone and desoxycorticosterone-acetate in adrenalectomized rats. These compounds were closely related in structure to aldosterone and were assigned the code names SC 5233 and SC 8109, respectively. Structures of these three compounds are shown in Figure 1. [Pg.266]

In Addison s disease, Luetscher (215) noted a significant decline in serum albumin no consistent changes in electrophoretic globulin components could be made out. Loeb (personal communication) has occasionally observed a slight increase in serum globulins, perhaps associated with active tuberculosis in some cases. The effects of heraoconcentration in Addison s disease and of hemodilution after treatment with doca (desoxycorticosterone acetate) are well known. [Pg.220]
