The term textile printing is used to describe the production of colored designs or patterns on textile substrates through a combination of various mechanical and chemical means. In printing on textiles, a localized dyeing process takes place, whereby in general the chemical and physical parameters of dyeing apply. [Pg.371]

The objeetive of the following model is to investigate the extent to whieh Computational Fluid Mixing (CFM) models ean be used as a tool in the design of industrial reaetors. The eommereially available program. Fluent , is used to ealeulate the flow pattern and the transport and reaetion of ehemieal speeies in stirred tanks. The blend time predietions are eompared with a literature eonelation for blend time. The produet distribution for a pair of eompeting ehemieal reaetions is eompared with experimental data from the literature. [Pg.795]

In neural network design, the above parameters have no precise number/answers because it is dependent on the particular application. However, the question is worth addressing. In general, the more patterns and the fewer hidden neurons to be used, the better the network. It should be realized that there is a subtle relationship between the number of patterns and the number of hidden layer neurons. Having too few patterns or too many hidden neurons can cause the network to memorize. When memorization occurs, the network would perform well during training, but tests poorly with a new data set. [Pg.9]

All styles and designs of mixing impellers produce either an axial-flow or a radial-flow of the fluid during the impeller rotation. There are, of course, degrees of variation of each of these patterns, v. hich then become a pan of the selection and specifying process to achieve tire mixing objective. [Pg.289]

The Kenics STATIC MIXER unit is a series of fixed, helical elements enclosed within a tubular housing. The fixed geometric design of the unit produces the following unique patterns of flow division and radial mixing simultaneously. [Pg.335]

Plates are pressed from stainless steel, titanium, HasteT loy or any material ductile enough to be formed into a pressing. The specious design of the trough pattern strengthens the plates, increases the effective heat transfer area and produces turbulence in the liquid flow between plates. Plates are pressed in materials between 0.5 and... [Pg.394]

There is a potential for unstable flow through pumps, which is created by both the design-flow pattern and the radial deflection caused by back-pressure in the discharge piping. Pumps tend to operate at their second-mode shape or deflection pattern. This mode of operation generates a unique vibration frequency at the second harmonic (2x) of running speed. In extreme cases, the shaft may be deflected further and operate in its third (3x) mode shape. Therefore, both of these frequencies should be monitored. [Pg.713]
